Six teams invited to StarSeries i-League S7

A week after the announcement of the seventh season of StarSeries i-League CS:GO, we are ready to reveal the names of six teams that have been invited to the main event. These teams are TyLoo, Team Liquid, mousesports, MiBR, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and NRG Esports, who have confirmed their participation in the upcoming tournament.

Team Liquid StarSeries

Primary focus on this list should be on Team Liquid and mousesports, who belong to the top-5 of HLTV’s world rankings at the time of writing. Liquid participated in the fourth and fifth seasons of StarSeries i-League and made it to the Playoffs in both cases. TL’s best result at our events is the third place as they defeated FaZe Clan at the end of their showing at StarSeries i-League CS:GO S4.

On the other hand, we have mousesports as the champions of the fourth season of StarSeries i-League, when they overpowered public’s favorites Natus Vincere in an unforgettable final clash. After that, mouz visited Kiev two more times, but they failed to achieve the same result: 3-4th place at the event in Palace Ukraine and 9-11th place in the sixth season which ended for them by the loss against BIG in the group stage.

Beside Liquid, two more representatives of the North American CS:GO-scene, MiBR and NRG Esports have received direct invites. The famous Brazilians have attended our championships on four occasions: two times they finished on the 5-8th place, became the bronze medalists in the first season at Minsk Arena and were eliminated in the group stage in the third season. Since then, the lineup moved on to another organization, MiBR, and later, they were joined by Tarik "tarik" Celik. Will Marcelo "coldzera" David’s team succeed in surpassing its previous results? We will find it out in a couple of months at the LAN-finals in Shanghai!

NRG Esports have left a bigger mark in the history of StarSeries i-League CS:GO. One of the strongest teams in North America should be represented as the vice-champions of StarSeries i-League S5, where they fell short against the #1 squad in CIS, Natus Vincere. NRG also showed a good result at the sixth event of the series, but they couldn’t make another run to the finals. In the end, the North American team lost the semifinals against Vega Squadron.

Two more tickets to the tournament in Shanghai have come into possession of TyLoo and Ninjas in Pyjamas. The best team in Asia cannot miss a home event, and we are happy to welcome TyLoo at StarSeries i-League S7! Starting from the second season, TyLoo have turned up to play at every StarSeries i-League CS:GO championship, but they still haven’t made a single Playoff appearance. Now things may easily change, as TyLoo are likely to have an advantage due to playing in their home region.

The legendary tag from Sweden, Ninjas in Pyjamas doesn't need an introduction for readers who are familiar with the story of CS:GO. The current lineup of NiP is getting better and better with time passing by, and now they are on the 7th place in the HLTV’s rankings. We can’t wait for the moment when the champions of StarSeries i-League CS:GO’s second season return to play on our stage!
